I am excited and proud to announce that EIP Corp. is now a third generation business. My son, Jordan Barash, joined our company on 7/1. Jordan is a graduate of the University of Kansas, and he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law. After law school, Jordan went to work for UMB Bank as a Trust Advisor. After several years at UMB, Jordan spent the last 2 years as a Trust Administration Advisor at Truist Bank.
My dad, Ed Barash, founded EIP in 1973 and grew it into a hugely successful firm. I was lucky enough to join him in 2003 after receiving my Juris Doctorate and working at different bank trust departments. If one of Jordan’s two kids applies to law school in about 18 years, odds are pretty good that they will eventually want to join us too! My dad is still hanging around as evidenced by his self-proclaimed title here, “SHA.” And I also have no plans to leave any time soon. We are thrilled by the opportunity to work with each other!
We are in a unique position with our company. Many of our competitors are being acquired by bigger regional and national firms. A lot of plan sponsors would prefer to work with family-owned firms like ours, which is one reason why we have decided to remain independent. We have grown organically over 53 years, even more since we brought in Casey McCarthy as our Director of Business Development over 5 years ago. We are up to 16 employees and will continue to add to our staff to maintain the high level of service that our clients and advisors have come to expect.
We look forward to introducing Jordan to all of you over the next few months!
Cory Barash, J.D., President
